A special volunteer clean-up activity was organised by the World Mission Society Church of God which shares love with its neighbours and community by continually holding various volunteer activities throughout the world including blood drives, relief efforts in areas affected by natural disasters, general clean-up campaigns to preserve the environment, blanket and sock drives for the under-privileged and other such events.
On Sunday January 26, 2014, an environmental clean-up campaign was held in the Johannesburg city centre from the corner of Bree and Harrison Street to Wanderers street. The purpose of the city clean-up campaign was to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the birth of Christ Ahnsahnghong, who founded the World Mission Society Church of God in 1964.
The Church of God believes in the existence of God the Mother as well as God the Father on the basis of Bible and currently has 2,500 churches in 170 countries and 2 million registered members. The 2303rd environmental clean-up campaign was held globally by the Churches of God.
The clean-up campaign was supported by Pikitup, which contributed brooms, gloves and a truck to collect the trash that the members collected. The event was also supported by the City of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD).
Mr Edward Mohale, the Regional Director of Region F City of Johannesburg, gave the members some encouraging words before they commenced the clean-up. Mr Patrick Galloway, General Director at Pikitup, also gave a word of thanks and encouragement to the volunteers of the Church of God and thanked them for helping to clean the city.
The Church of God makes great efforts to protect environment and to practice loving neighbors by diligently helping society in need everywhere. The World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) changes the whole world where found no love by spreading the love of God the Mother in this last age. Please come to the Church of God to receive the love of God the Mother and share the given love to others around you.
