3,500 years ago, when the Israelites came out from Egypt, they escaped the dreadful disaster by keeping the Passover.
“‘…it is the Lord’s Passover…when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you…for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as…a lasting ordinance.'”(Exodus 12:11-14)
Around 726 B.C., Hezekiah, a king during the period of divided monarchy in Israel, sent the couriers to the southern kingdom of Judah and the northern kingdom of Israel as well to tell them to keep the Passover.
The people who kept the Passover, following God’s word
The kingdom of Judah, which kept the Passover, following the word of God, was protected when the assyrian army invaded it.
“…celebrate the Passover…Also in Judah the hand of God was on he people to give them unity of mind to carry out what the king and his officials had ordered, following the word of the Lord.”(2 Chronicles 30:4-12)

The people who scorned and ridiculed the Passover
The kingdom of Israel, which scorned and ridiculed the couriers who told them to keep the Passover, was destroyed in 721 B.C. by Assyria.
“…calling the people to…celebrate the Passover…The couriers went from town to town in Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun, but the people scorned and ridiculed them:(2 Chronicles 30:4-10)
“”…Shalmaneser king of Assyria marched against Samaria and laid siege to it…Samaria was captured…This happened because they had not obeyed the Lord Their God, but had violated his covenant all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded.
