There are two types of Jerusalem in the Bible.
One is Jerusalem on earth, and the other is Jerusalem in Heaven.
Earthly Jerusalem is a place in the Middle East that we have known well.
Then what does Heavenly Jerusalem mean?

"rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. (Isa 52:2)"
"no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.(Isa 62:7)"
"I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband(Rev 21:2)"
"...Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. ... and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.(Rev 21:9)"

Above verses cannot be the explanation of Jerusalem in the Middle East.
Then what does Jerusalem above mean?


[Rev 22:17] The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let the one who hears say, "Come!" Let the one who is thirsty come; and the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Apostle John saw the Spirit and the bride who give the salvation in the revelation.
And he confirmed about the bride through the angel.

[Rev 21:9-10] One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb. And he carried me and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

The bride shown by the angel is not Earthly Jerusalem, but Holy City, Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven.

[Gal 4:26] But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

Jerusalem coming down out of heaven which Apostle John saw was 'OUR MOTHER'.
What does 'our mother' mean here?
Let's think about 'mother' first.


All living things on Earth receive life from their mother.
So do human beings.
Our physical life is given by our physical mothers, and our spiritual life given by our Spiritual Mother.
Does our Spiritual mother exist in the Bible?

[Ge 1:26-27] Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, ... So God created mankind in his own image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

God did not say that "I will make man in my image", but said, "Let us make man in our image".
Why did God refer to Himself as "Us", a plural form, not "I", a singular form?

Here are the "man" and "woman" who were created in the image of God.
This means that there must be definitely the image of male and the image of female in God's image.
We call the male image of God as 'God the Father'.
Then, shouldn't we call the female image of God as 'God the Mother?
That's why God referred to himself as 'Us'.
As such, the Bible tells us that there is a God the Mother.


The holy city Jerusalem that comes down from heaven, is the God the Mother, our spiritual Mother, who came down from heaven to this earth.

[Gal 4:28] ... Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.
[Gal 4:31] Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not the children of the slave women but of the free woman.

The Bible called the children of promise who were promised eternal life, as 'children of Woman' and 'children of God the Mother'.
Those who do not believe in Jerusalem Mother God cannot be children of promise and receive eternal life.
Because eternal life, the promise of God, is finally complete through God the Mother.
