The World Responds to Devotion
On January 8, President Dina Boluarte presented the Church of God with the country’s highest environmental award, the Antonio Brac Egg National Environmental Award, at the Peruvian Presidential Palace. She expressed her gratitude for the Church of God’s contribution to improving the quality of life for Peruvians by consistently carrying out environmental cleanup and tree planting activities throughout Peru for over 25 years. It has been six months since the Peruvian National Assembly awarded the Church of God the National Assembly Medal, the highest honor for a religious group, for the first time. At the award ceremony held at the National Assembly building in July of last year, National Assembly Speaker Alejandro Soto Reyes said, “The Church of God taught us that the Christian mission is to love our neighbors with a mother’s heart and support the local community.”
In December, the Church of God received the World Peace Service Award at the 8th Nobel Science Prize Awards Ceremony in the Republic of Korea. The World Peace Service Award is an award that aims to discover organizations that have contributed to human society and raised the status of the nation, and to change the world. It highly recognizes contributions to respect for life and solidarity for human peace around the world. It was even more meaningful because it was awarded in the year of the 60th anniversary of the foundation.
