There’re 365 days in a year. We live every day meaningfully but we do not remember all the 365 days in a year. There’re special days among them. There may be special days in person, such as birthdays, anniversaries, but there are also special days as a people of a country. For example, it may be a special day for Koreans, but it’s not special for Americans. On the contrary, it may be a special day to Americans, but not to Koreans.

Then, if there’s a special day to God? That day is a special day for God and God’s people, but not for those who don’t belong to God. For God’s people, it’s the most special day that can never be compared to other days. But for those who are not God’s people, it’s not special, it’s just a normal day like any other day. When is the special day for God and God’s people then?

Ex 20:8-11 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

God distinguished the Sabbath day from other days and commanded us to remember it by keeping it holy. The special day for God and God’s people is the Sabbath day. If we are God’s people, we must remember and keep the Sabbath holy. Let’s keep the Sabbath day as special and receive abundant blessings promised by our God.
