Even if you make an image and do not consider it sacred, making an image and erecting it itself is disobeying God’s command.

Making or serving any image is idolatry.
In God's teachings, there is nothing about making a cross and serving it.
Therefore, churches that erect crosses do not receive blessings from God.

We must absolutely obey the word of God and not make an idol of the cross or serve it.
We cannot compare God to an idol.

The cross is just a piece of wood with no power. We must not treat the cross as an idol, but think of the great grace of Christ who sacrificed himself on the cross.

I also vaguely thought that the cross was a symbol of the church before I came to the Church of God and discerned truth from falsehood through the Bible.
I truly thank God for allowing me, who had no spiritual discernment, to realize that the cross was nothing more than an idol and for blessing me to realize the true God, Elohim God.

There are many reason to erect the Cross. For commemorate Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, as a symbol of the Church and to get comfort through cross when some faces difficult.
However, these reasons are incorrect in aspect of God. God said not to make any image by thinking God and not to erect anything. And God said also the cross can do no harm nor do any good when we wear the cross on our neck. And, if some want to commemorate Jesus' sacrifice, you can do it by keeping Passover like Apostles in the age of Early Church.
Anyway, there is no biblical reason to erect the Cross.

The cross cannot save us. Because that is just a man-made idol. God wants us to make a true faith without any symbols.

True faith is to obey whatever God says. We must have faith to listen to and obey God's words, even if they are trivial.

The map to lead salvation is from God. Elohim God leads us through His words.
