When God commands something, there aren't meaningless things.
We can't understand his will fully at the moment but if we obey, we will realize his great will and be blessed in the end. His commandments are just to give us blessings.
Furthermore, we can also know some people like Abraham, Noah who obeyed to God and received great blessings. I think it is a lesson for us who are walking on the path of faith.
As God's children, we need to rely on God and follow his saying. We don't realize his will but later we will understand the real meaning.
