The term of ‘promise’ is that a statement telling someone that you will definitely do something or that something will definitely happen in the future. Usually the young kids want to get the firm promise that his father or mother would buy some toys on the special occasions. And the promise must happen and give the result. In the Bible, we’re called as the children of promise like Issac and the God’s promise is to give us eternal life. (1Jn 2:25) How can we get eternal life, being given God’s promise?

Gal 4:28 Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.

According to the parable of the two women; the slave woman and the free woman, those to be born by the free woman will be called the children of promise and be saved. Even though the barren woman has never born a child in a physical way, she, the free woman will shout aloud for joy and her children will be more than those of her who has a husband.

Then who is the free woman that has never born a child but has a lot of children of the promise? The sons born by the slave woman are considered as those who don’t have the promise and be given the limited life because he is born according to the flesh in a earthly way without the Spirit.

Gal 4:26 But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our MOTHER.

Those who are given unlimited life by the free woman will surely get eternal life, although the slave woman and her son persecuted them because the son of the slave woman will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s sons. We, the children of the promise, are blessed to be sons and daughter of the free woman, our Heavenly Jerusalem, God the Mother.
