PASSOVER, The Promise of eternal life in WMSCOG
|Today, I want to share the truth of the World Mission Society Church Of God (WMSCOG) with the title, ‘Passover, the way to eternal life.’
Nowadays there are so many Christians, who call themselves spiritual Israelites and God’s people, like the sand of the seashore throughout the world.
Ro 9:27~29 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. For the Lord will carry out his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”
It is just as Isaiah said previously: “Unless the Lord Almighty had left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah.”
However, the children of promise, who are chosen by God, are only those who are regarded as the seed of God
Among God’s creatures in nature, a seed has special characteristics. When the seed sprouts to life, it exactly resembles the maternal form. Just as a seed resembles in shape that the original plant it came from, we – the seed of Christ – should resemble Christ.
Jn 13:15 “I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. ”
Among the examples of Christ, let’s take a look at His example of celebrating Passover.
Lk 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
There was a certain reason that Jesus wants to keep the Passover. Whoever eats Jesus’ flesh and drinks His blood has eternal life. So, through the Passover, Jesus wanted to give humand beings eternal life.
Jn 6:53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Lk 22:7~15 Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”… They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When the hour cames, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
‘Those who resemble God’ can pass through heaven’s gate
The purpose of Jesus’ coming to this earth was to redeem human beings from sins and to lead them to the way of eternal salvation. And Jesus eagerly desired to celebrate the Passover. So, It must be something that is very closely related to our salvation.
Jn 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
