The reason the Church of God believes in God the Mother is because the Bible clearly testifies to the existence of God the Mother.
[Genesis 1:26~27] Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image and in Our likeness." and in the result male and female were created following God's image and likeness. This clearly shows that there exists not only God the Father of male image but also God the Mother of female image. If God the Father had been alone, it would not have been necessary for Him to say 'Us" or "Our'" but "Me" or "My".
Herebelow follows another testimony of the Bible.
[Revelation 22:17] The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.
As above, it is prophesied that the Spirit and the Bride are to call mankind to give the water of life. As you know, only God has the authority to give the water of life.
[Revelation 21:6~7] He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Actually, Revelation 22:17 is the last prophecy of the Bible, which must be fulfilled in the last days. The Spirit refers to God the Father in Trinity and the Bride refers to God the Mother, who is the source of eternal life.
[Revelation 21:9~10] One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.
[Galatians 4:26~31] But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother... Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise....Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
So far, we have confirmed that the Bible testifies about God the Mother from the beginning to the end. In fact, there are much more testimonies about God the Mother in the Bible. Mother's existence is very natural for living beings.
If so, what did God want to show us through this? God wants us to realize his divine nature. which is invisible, that is, God the Father and God the Mother exist from the beginning.
