Giving thanks to is more vital when the kingdom of heaven is near.
In the history of Israelite, only two people entered Cannan because most grumbled and didn't give thanks to God.
Jesus said according to your faith let it be done to you. (Mth9:29)
Those who do will of Father will enter the kingdom of heaven. (Mth7:21)
Giving thanks to Him in all circumstances is also will of God. (1Th5:18)
Bigger blessing comes to us when we give thanks to God even hardships situations are before us. That is to enter eternal our home!

Whatever we do, whenever, we give thank to God. God know our future and bless us.
Actually, we can be strong through the suffers. Even we feel that it's so hard to endure, God knows that we can be more stronger after enduring all the suffers. Also, God gives us the power to overcome those!! That's are another reason that we have to give thanks to God in all circumstances.
When we are tested, if we pray and thank God in steady faith, we will be able to overcome more easily for any testing. This means, as much as it, we will be more stronger and more faithful enough to enter the kingdom of heaven.
We can overcome any difficulties by relying on the words of God and God bless us
