Most of Christians regard the cross is the just symbol of the churches, however the erection of the cross is nowhere to be found in the New Testament times which was written in the Apostolic age. When did Christians start setting up the cross in the churches? According to the history of Christians, the public use of the cross was adopted at the time of Constantine, the Roman Emperor. It means that the cross had nothing to do with the teachings of Christ Jesus and no evidence for the apostles to set up on top of the Early Church. Is is very natural because while the churches were persecuted by the Roman Empire, the cross was used as a tool to execute the saints.

Ex 20:3~5 You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them.

Definitely the starting point of the use of the cross is during the Constantine reigns and it is an idol to make the God’s people to absolutely go stray from the faith. Therefore we must never set up the cross or think it as the symbol of the churches. nor worship them in the presence of God Elohim.
