In the Old Testament times, God the Jehovah clearly had asked His people to keep the Sabbath every week, saying, “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.”(Ex 20:8). Also Jesus Christ definitely asked His disciples, in the New Testament times, to keep the Sabbath every week, showing the good examples to celebrate the Sabbaths. Then what day of the week is the Sabbath day God commanded us to keep? The absolute answer is in the Bible.
Mk 16:9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week
Mk 16:1~2 When the Sabbath was over, bought spices to that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb.
Here, ‘the first day of the week’ refers to Sunday that is the day after Sabbath. As the calendar proves that Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the last day of the seventh day, also the Bible testifies that the Sabbath day is Saturday. Therefore we must keep this fact and worship God Elohim on Saturday, by keeping it holy.
